Tried all that, still having issues. I know it's not a hardware issue, as everything was fine till patch Tuesday.

You tried this and it didnt work: ?

1. Boot from your Windows XP CD or DVD and start the recovery console (see this Microsoft article for help with this step)
Once you are in the Repair Screen..
2. Type this command: CHDIR $NtUninstallKB977165$\spuninst
3. Type this command: BATCH spuninst.txt
4. When complete, type: exit

Yes, it says it can't find the BATCH spuninst.txt file

When I look at the dir from repair screen, I can see the $NtUninstallKB977165$\spuninst file there.

Honestly, this kind of thing doesn't happen much.
Don't despair JB, and don't hate. All products are great until something happens, you can't hate the product per-say. It's all part of it.

If that was the situation that was normal, then I would have thrown out my car LONG ago. I love that stupid POS.

Any ideas guys??? I need that comp back if at all possible due to the fact my folks are having thier 40th at the end of the month and I have stuff on there that wasn't backed up.

one idea could be to plug your HDD in another PC, and back the info...

then you reformat and put the same HDD back and have it back. I did that once with an HDD.

or, what i understand on Win 7 install from XP is that it doesn't actually formats your HDD, what it does is that it creates a windows.old folder with all your documents so you can place them where you want them and then delete the windows.old folder.

I might be wrong but that's what it did when i went from XP to 7...

My c:\ is in raid, so ....????

I don't understand why people use RAID 0 it makes no sense and the odds of getting fucked are very high

So if you got to the repair screen, couldn't you run system restore and restore it to a previous point (as recent as possible before the mess started)?
